Cristiano Ronaldo tops the list of richest footballers in the world

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, has been named the richest footballer in the world, with a personal fortune of £152m. The Portuguese is top of the list, ahead of eternal rival, Lionel Messi, who is in second place, with £7m less of Ronaldo’s wealth.



According to Goal’s Rich List which was released on Thursday, Messi’s team-mate at Barcelona is in third place with an estimated wealth of £97.9m.
The list features famous players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and Samuel Eto’o.



Goal took into consideration their account sponsorship revenue as well as wages and bonuses.
